Series 2 Episode 6 - Dick and Angel help Linda and Andrew transform a patch of land into an alfresco bath house using a 1960's pink bathroom suite bought for a quid!

Like you, we have been a fan of Dick and Angel for years. So, when we got the opportunity to work with them and contribute to the new series of Escape to the Chateau Make Do and Mend we jumped at the chance.

We had bought a vintage pink bathroom suite for the princely sum of £1.00 on eBay 7 years ago. Our plan was to install said suite into our house. But with the purchase ruling our hearts not our heads we found out that… a: the bath was too big for the room b: it was too heavy for the floorboards c: we couldn’t get it up the stairs.

Undeterred, we began thinking of new ways to use our retro suite.

We started looking at outdoor bathtubs on the internet. There were a lot of pretty pictures of outdoor bathes in exotic places but none of the sites showed us how plumb and heat the water in off-grid locations. We then found out that Dick and Angel were offering there help to people who had DIY dilemmas.

We had a chat with the gurus of DIY and soon realised that our plan to install a fully functioning bath in the Oxfordshire countryside was not as bonkers as we first thought.
